Top Five Reasons to Wear Safety Glasses.

Whether you are working underneath the car, cutting some OSB with a circular saw or working in close proximity to tree branches... getting things in your eye will hinder progress tenfold. No one likes to stop what they're doing when they're in the middle of a project but getting foreign objects in your eye or a corneal abrasions will do just that! Here are the TOP FIVE REASONS TO WEAR SAFETY GLASSES.

When you wear safety glasses, people around you recognize that you are a professional. They look at you and think "wow he knows what he's doing... and I guess I really don't" Do not feel bad for these people... It is all part of the learning process! This is what separates Weekend Warriors from trade professionals. Wear your safety glasses with pride and know that you are leading the next generation into a future of safe preparation and careful planning for their health! What is more noble than that!?

Time

We have all been in a hurry finish a project in the appropriate time to meet quota. However, working fast is not always the most effective way to finish quickly. I like to think of the old adage "Haste makes waste." Insinuating that a lack of preparation can have huge repercussions. If you work without safety glasses and get something in your eye... You may be forced to seek medical attention. This will not only cost you money, but, it will hinder productivity and add to the length of any project. Keeping a set of scratch free safety glasses on your face can prevent this obstruction to your schedule and keep nurses at the eye clinic from calling you a dummy.

Confidence

You probably have a seething sense of self image and we certainly don't want to damage that! Though, sometimes, we all head into a project and do not know what to expect. In times like these, it helps build confidence in yourself by knowing that you do not know the unknown, but, (with safety glasses on) you DO know that your eyes are protected from any thing that may come your way. Every now and then we grab a cut off wheel or a grinder and let the sparks fly! As we cut our way to freedom in the onward march toward mechanical victory. Here is another great reason to keep your eyes protected so you can stand back and say "I DID IT!" alone, to yourself, in your celebratory look at what I did stance.

Morale

It is no secret that certain types of iconic paraphernalia can produce a camaraderie among groups of people. Like the Royal Purple on Marcus Aurelius's robe The great emperor of Rome was able to lead countless victors in battle by displaying these unique and highly honorable colors. Though, we are not fighting battles against the Barbarians today... Boosting morale in a crew is a great way to keep the hard work flow alive on a job site! So make sure your head Foreman is wearing the right look!

Reduce Carbon Emissions

It is no secret that we are heading toward an uncertain future. As carbon emissions world wide are raising global temperatures, mankind's reliance on burning fossil fuels and petroleum to generate energy and run equipment has had an impact on mother nature. So, HOW CAN WE MAKE A CHANGE!? The answer is MORE manual labor and HARD WORK. When we laborers jump off of a machine (and get back to the basics of physical labor) not only do we burn off the extra calories that we put into our fat bodies... but, we also build character and help torch off extra energy that might otherwise erupt and a testosterone induced rage. So flip on your favorite brand eyewear, shut off the machine and take the bull by the horns! You will feel great and have one more reason to feel tired at the end of the day! Essentially eradicating that inner desire to stay up late and make poor choices.
